DeaL was formed in early 2005 by former employees of the Small Business Centre at Durham University Business School to carry on the tradition of delivering pioneering work in the field of enterprise development. DeaL offers a range of training programmes for business brokers, skills brokers, SMEs exploring growth strategies and undertakes consultancy projects in all aspects of enterprise development.

The company’s principals have extensive experience of managing and delivering a range of programmes to SMEs gained over the last twenty years: from pre-start courses, post-start programmes, growth programmes, youth entrepreneurship programmes, business turnaround programmes, social enterprise development programmes, tourism business development programmes, women’s entrepreneurship programmes and other similar variants.

In addition, the DeaL team have been extensively involved in the development and provision of accredited and non-accredited development programmes for Business Advisers, Business Brokers, Skills Brokers and other business support intermediaries such as bankers, in several instances pioneering the development of programmes that form the basis of today’s accreditations for those working to support small and medium businesses.
